Will There Be Catfish in Heaven?

Hey Everybody,

I’m at the airport in Jackson, MS waiting for my flight home. We were in Laurel yesterday for a women’s conference with Trudy Cathy White (Truett’s daughter) at First Baptist. I stayed over for a concert at the church this morning.

I have to say that those are some of the most gracious and generous ladies and gentlemen I’ve ever met. The music minister and his wife made sure I met my catfish quota; in fact, I’ve eaten it 4 times in the last 3 days and I savored every bite. If I lived in Mississippi I’d weigh 250 pounds and it would all have swum at one time.

Trudy brought all of the attendees a stuffed cow and a GET ONE FREE Chick-Fil-A card. (Now THAT is a great idea!) It’s not catfish but it’s delicious – especially when followed by a kiddie cone of Ice Dream (their name for vanilla). Makes you want to find a flag and hum a verse of ‘God Bless America!’

We’re heading to Columbus, GA for the concert/tribute to Jake Hess on Thursday. It’s always great to hear the stories he left behind. What a talent; what a giver; what a gentle man.

Many of you have asked about my sister, Kay (thank you!) She is still doing wonderfully. The doctor still wants to make her a poster child.

We’re nearing the release of the new book and CD – more about those as we get closer to it.

Have a great week. We love you!!!

Janet
