Aw shucks, Duke !
Hey Everybody,
It’s Tuesday evening. I’ve had a pretty wonderful day and wanted to tell you about it.
I went to Duke Medical Center for extensive tests beginning at 9 this morning. I was stuck, prodded, registered and redirected more times than I care to recall. This was a big day – a close encounter with cancer’s favorite hiding places. At the end of the day, the oncologist told me that my tests, percentages, counts, etc. were – and I quote – PERFECT!
I never knew hunting for cancer could be so much fun.
I know that a lot of you were praying – you told me so this past weekend. More than any other gift, that is the one I cherish most of all. So, how do I say ‘Thank you’ so that it doesn’t sound trivial or less than sincere? I don’t know – maybe you have some ideas. All I know is that I wish each of you could feel the gratitude in my heart for you all. I am so blessed.
As I was walking down one of the many corridors in Duke’s Oncology Center this afternoon, I started crying – not out of sadness, but out of a deep sense of gratitude, and because I knew the tests could have (and have) had opposite results. I think if I had one wish, it would be that there would be no cancer in our world.
I appreciate you. I love you.
Blessings,
Janet
